A shaligram or shaligrama shila is a particular variety of stone collected from riverbed or banks of the Kali Gandaki, a tributary of the Gandaki River in Nepalw which represents Lord Vishnu.
The Ganesh Shaligram stone is typically black in color and has unique markings or chakras on its surface that are said to resemble the elephant head of Lord Ganesha. The stone is considered to be very auspicious and powerful, and is believed to bring good luck, prosperity, and success to the worshipper.
